WARRANTY & GUARANTEE POLICY

Warranty Policy

Information regarding product warranties, statutory consumer rights and warranty claims for goods and services supplied by UNO Sewing.

Last Updated: 5 October 2026

1. Warranty Coverage

UNO supplies goods according to commercially accepted standards, manufacturer specifications and applicable law.

Goods may also be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty or a specific written warranty provided at the time of sale.

2. Statutory Consumer Rights

Where the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) applies, goods carry the implied warranty of quality required by law.

If goods fail to meet the required standards within six (6) months after delivery, the consumer may return the goods without penalty and at the supplier’s risk and expense and may, subject to the CPA, elect repair, replacement or refund.

3. Warranty on Repairs

Where the CPA applies, new or reconditioned parts installed during repair or maintenance, together with the labour required to install them, carry the statutory repair warranty for the period required by law unless a longer warranty is specified in writing.

4. Exclusions

Warranty coverage does not apply where the defect, failure or damage is caused by:

  • Misuse, abuse, negligence or accidental damage.
  • Incorrect installation, incorrect application or use outside specifications.
  • Failure to follow operating, maintenance, safety or storage instructions.
  • Unauthorised repair, modification or tampering.
  • Ordinary wear and tear, consumables or routine maintenance items.
  • Power surges, unsuitable electricity supply, water damage, fire, flood, corrosion or other external causes.
  • Damage occurring after delivery or collection, except where UNO is legally responsible.

5. Warranty Claims Procedure

To submit a warranty claim, customers must:

  • Submit the claim in writing to admin@unosewing.co.za.
  • Provide proof of purchase, invoice number, product details, serial number (where applicable), fault description, photographs and any supporting information.
  • Do not attempt any unauthorised repair or modification before UNO or the manufacturer has assessed the claim.
  • Make the goods available for inspection, testing or return where reasonably required.

6. Assessment and Remedies

UNO or the manufacturer may inspect or test the goods to determine whether a warranty or statutory remedy applies.

Where the claim is valid, the applicable remedy may include repair, replacement, refund or another remedy required by law or the relevant written warranty.

7. Unsuitability for Intended Purpose

If a customer advised UNO of a specific intended purpose and relied on UNO’s skill and judgment, and UNO expressly confirmed suitability in writing, the customer may have remedies under applicable law if the goods are unsuitable for that purpose.

Customers must notify UNO as soon as reasonably possible and within any statutory period that applies.

8. No Exclusion of Law

Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits or excludes any non-excludable rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) or any other applicable law.
