Social Media & Communication Policy
Guidelines governing communication through social media, messaging platforms and digital channels.
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. Scope and Official Channels
This policy applies to UNO’s official social-media pages, website communications, email and messaging channels. Only accounts and contact details published on UNO’s official website or confirmed by UNO should be treated as official. Verify suspicious messages or payment instructions through an independently confirmed UNO channel.
2. Status of Communications
UNO’s posts, messages, images and videos are generally provided for information, marketing and customer engagement. They do not constitute a binding offer, technical specification, warranty, professional advice or contractual commitment unless confirmed in an authorised written quotation, invoice, order confirmation or agreement. Prices, promotions, stock, specifications and images may change and should be confirmed before an order is placed.
3. Orders and Customer Support
Do not use public comments or social-media messages to submit confidential payment information, amend an order, authorise a repair or lodge a formal return or warranty claim unless UNO expressly directs you to do so. UNO may redirect enquiries to an official support channel so that they can be handled securely and properly recorded.
4. Community Rules and Moderation
Users may not post or send content that is:
- unlawful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory, hateful or obscene;
- false, misleading, fraudulent, spam, impersonation or unauthorised advertising;
- an infringement of privacy, confidentiality, copyright, trade marks or other rights;
- malicious, unsafe or likely to compromise security or legal proceedings; or
- unrelated to UNO or not connected to a genuine customer concern.
Subject to the relevant platform’s rules, UNO may hide, remove, report or restrict content or accounts that breach this policy. UNO is not obliged to monitor or respond to every post, and leaving content visible does not mean that UNO endorses it.
5. User Content and Intellectual Property
You are responsible for content you submit and must have the right to publish it. Do not share confidential information or another person’s personal information without lawful authority. UNO’s names, logos, branding and original content may not be copied or used commercially without written permission, except for ordinary platform sharing or where permitted by law.
6. Privacy and Third-Party Platforms
Personal information will be handled in accordance with UNO’s Privacy Policy and POPIA Compliance Statement. Public posts may be visible, copied or shared by others. Social-media platforms and linked websites are operated by third parties and are subject to their own terms, privacy practices and security controls.
7. No Waiver
A delay or failure by UNO to respond to a message does not constitute acceptance of a claim, an admission of liability, a waiver of rights or a change to any agreement.
8. Contact and Changes
To report an impersonation account, scam or inappropriate communication, retain any available evidence and contact UNO through an official channel. UNO may update this policy from time to time.
