Service & Repairs Policy

Information regarding machine servicing, repairs, assessments and customer responsibilities for equipment serviced by UNO Sewing.

Last Updated: 8 July 2026

1. Booking a Service or Repair

Services and repairs must be booked through UNO’s official channels.

Customers must provide full details of the machine or product, the serial number where available, a description of the fault, proof of purchase where relevant, and any applicable warranty information.

2. Assessment

Goods may require inspection, testing or assessment before UNO can determine the cause of the fault, whether the repair is covered under warranty, and the estimated repair cost and turnaround time.

An assessment fee may be charged for non-warranty assessments or where no repair is authorised after assessment, provided this has been disclosed to the customer beforehand.

3. Quotations and Authorisation

For non-warranty repairs, UNO will provide a quotation or cost estimate before any work begins unless the customer has authorised repairs up to an agreed amount.

Repairs will only commence after customer approval, payment of any required deposit and confirmation of parts availability.

4. Repair Timelines

Repair timelines depend on technician availability, workshop workload, fault complexity, parts availability, supplier lead times and any required testing.

Unless expressly agreed in writing, all turnaround times are estimates only.

5. Warranty Repairs

Warranty repairs are governed by our Warranty Policy, the applicable manufacturer’s warranty terms and relevant legislation.

Warranty claims may be declined where the fault results from:

  • Misuse or abuse.
  • Negligence.
  • Incorrect application or operation.
  • Unauthorised repairs or modifications.
  • Lack of maintenance.
  • Power surges.
  • Consumable items.
  • Ordinary wear and tear.
  • Damage occurring after delivery.

6. Non-Warranty Repairs

Non-warranty repairs are payable by the customer.

Replaced parts may be retained or disposed of by UNO unless the customer requests their return before repairs commence, subject to safety, legal and supplier requirements.

7. Warranty on Repaired Goods

Where the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) applies, new or reconditioned parts installed during repair or maintenance, together with the labour required to install them, carry the statutory repair warranty for the period required by law unless a longer warranty has been provided in writing.

8. Customer Data and Accessories

Customers must remove accessories, materials, needles, attachments, data and any items not required for the repair before handing goods to UNO.

UNO is not responsible for the loss of accessories or data that were not disclosed and recorded when the goods were received, except where required by law.

9. Collection and Storage

Customers must collect repaired or assessed goods within a reasonable time after notification that the work has been completed.

UNO may charge reasonable storage fees for goods not collected within fourteen (14) days after notification, subject to applicable law and any additional written notice that may be required.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UNO’s liability for repair or service claims is limited to the invoiced value of the repair or service giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not exclude any liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
