Returns & Refund Policy
Information regarding returns, refunds, statutory consumer rights and return procedures for goods supplied by UNO Sewing.

1. About this Policy
This Returns & Refund Policy applies to goods purchased from UNO.
It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Shipping & Delivery Policy and Warranty Policy.
Nothing contained in this policy limits any non-excludable rights that consumers may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), or any other applicable law.
2. Online Cooling-Off Returns
Where the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) applies to an electronic transaction with a consumer, the consumer may cancel the transaction without reason and without penalty within seven (7) days after receiving the goods, unless a statutory exception applies.
For cooling-off returns, the customer may only be required to pay the direct cost of returning the goods.
Refunds will be processed within thirty (30) days after cancellation, subject to receipt of the returned goods and verification of the transaction.
3. Defective, Unsafe or Failed Goods
If goods fail to meet the standards required by the Consumer Protection Act within six (6) months after delivery, the consumer may return the goods without penalty and at UNO’s risk and expense.
Subject to the CPA, the consumer may elect repair, replacement or refund.
Goods may be inspected or assessed to confirm the alleged defect, failure, unsafe feature or incorrect supply.
The statutory remedy does not apply where the defect or damage resulted from misuse, abuse, negligence, incorrect application, unauthorised repair, alteration contrary to instructions, ordinary wear and tear or damage occurring after delivery.
4. Discretionary Returns of Non-Defective Goods
Returns of non-defective goods outside a statutory cooling-off or warranty right are discretionary and require UNO’s prior written approval.
Approved returns should generally be unused, undamaged, complete, in their original packaging and accompanied by proof of purchase.
For discretionary returns only, UNO may charge a reasonable handling or restocking fee of up to fifteen percent (15%) of the net invoiced value, together with any delivery or collection costs actually incurred.
This fee will never apply where the customer is exercising a statutory right under the CPA or ECTA.
5. Non-Returnable Goods
Subject to applicable law, returns may be refused for:
- Goods manufactured to customer specifications.
- Clearly personalised or customised goods.
- Installed or used goods.
- Goods that cannot be returned due to their nature.
- Goods damaged after delivery.
- Special-order items.
- Electrical or electronic parts that have been installed or tampered with.
- Goods returned without components, manuals or original packaging.
6. Return Procedure
To request a return, customers must:
- Contact UNO in writing at admin@unosewing.co.za.
- Provide the invoice number, date of purchase, description of the goods, reason for the return and supporting photographs where applicable.
- Not return goods until a return authorisation or written instruction has been issued, except where applicable law expressly provides otherwise.
- Package the goods securely for return.
- Remain responsible for loss or damage during transit where the return is not at UNO’s risk under applicable law.
Approved refunds will be made to the original payer and, where practical, using the original method of payment.
Delivery charges, banking fees and other associated costs will only be refunded where required by law or where UNO is responsible for the return.
